Notaires as asset management advisors
|
The difficulties inherent in managing and transferring assets, whether they belong to a private individual or a corporation, are not always proportional to the size of the assets concerned. There are many factors (economic, family-related, tax-related, legal and psychological) that may influence the choice of a solution.
The notaire’s first task is to understand the owner’s intentions, and then make sure that they are consistent with his or her family, tax and social security situation. At the moment when the choices are made, the notaire analyses all aspects of the owner’s plan: family, economic, tax and social.
Asset management, like choices in family matters, depends to a large degree on emotional factors. For notaires, as specialists in family law, this is another opportunity to demonstrate their skills in this field.
