Franco-Romanian Seminar 2016

Franco-Romanian Seminar 2016

On 3 and 4 November, in Paris, the 10th annual meeting of Romanian and French notariats was held.

This meeting is a privileged time of exchange and sharing between these two notariats united by a cooperation agreement signed in April 2007 in Bucharest.

During two days, the two notariats exchanged best practices in archiving and data protection. In this context, they have studied together the new European regulation 2016/679 on data protection.

They also exchanged views on the rights of couples. Notably, on divorce by mutual consent. In Romania, this is a well-established practice. In France, the notary will shortly be able to record a divorce by mutual consent by two lawyers.

Participants were able to gain a first insight into the two European regulations on the law of couples (regulation on matrimonial property regimes, regulation on registered partnerships).

They finally received feedback on notarial mediation in family conflicts as practiced in France.
