Be careful! False notaries solicit individuals indicating that they are heirs of a life insurance policy. This is a scam attempt.
How does this scam take place?
The false notary asks you to send them bank wire information, proof of identity or to make a transfer. Fake websites are also used.
What to do?
- Don’t answer the request.
- Get in touch with Chamber of Notaries of the "Notary’s" department who sends you a message.
- Contact the telephone research and check that the number corresponds to the one of Directory of Notaries of France.
- Ask for a confirmation email in "@ notaires.fr" or in "@ paris.notaires.fr" by the notary in question.
