Formalist : job description

The formalist follows the signature deeds, to make them binding and ensure their registration (and payment of property transfer fee).

Formalist's missions

It brings together the administrative documents, checks the contents of the deeds and performs the filing formalities of notarial deeds (property sale, company status, donation ...) with the concerned administrations.

As regards actions relating to a real estate sale, the formalist is responsible for all land registration procedures and registration of acts from the offices of mortgages and tax services.

Educate yourself about formalist profession

After earning a degree (general, technological or vocational) or bachelor's degree level (file selection), the future will form formalist school by way of two years of preparation at the Institut national des formations notariales (INFN) trades or in a public high school or private contract, including an unpaid internship of 3 months in a notary office.

He can then sit the examination of higher technician certificate notary (BTS Notaires) issued by the Ministry of Education.
This training leads to examinations organized by the education authority. Courses follow the school calendar.
